Nano-micro integration - Laser deposition of metal powders

The project foresees the development of a Laser sintering machine at very high resolution that will allow the production of really micro objects layer by layer, using concentrated powder fluxes and heat. This will lead to the control of space resolution in the same order of scale of the component and so to produce extremely precise micro-objects.
The technical objective of the project are:
- the development of different materials containing nanocrystals;
- the development of a high focused powder flux with precision in the order of 5µm;
- the implementation of online process monitoring device
- the development of a suitable deposition hardware at high precision and high productivity;
- the possibility to use different gradient of materials;
Through all these factors will be hence possible to realize a synthesis process of objects characterized by the integration of Nano and Micro technologies.
